It's Been Too Long Since We've Seen You So Here's A Reader Meet-up AND A Big Giveaway!

Things have been incredibly busy around the Chicagoist HQ. That teletype is chattering non-stop so we barely get a moment of peace. And that's probably why it's been so long since we've been able to leave our office and come out to see you, dear reader, in the flesh! Well, we're rectifying that situation and will try to make up for lost time by throwing in a few extras.

First, we're holding a reader meet-up at The Owl, in Logan Square, on Thursday, November 17 from 8 p.m. until 11 p.m (though you can stay longer, we probably will). We're bringing in our friends from Do312 to co-host the shindig with us and we've arranged for a hosted bar for the first hour so you all can enjoy a few complimentary drinks courtesy your doting hosts. We'll provide the music, and we're thinking the sounds might skew slightly psychedelic. Why?

Well wait, there's more!

2011_11_pf_catalog.jpg Courtesy of Pink Floyd and EMI Music, we've also got two full sets of the recently released remastered Pink Floyd catalog to give away to two lucky readers! Usually we're skeptical of reissue campaigns but in this case Pink Floyd seems to have gotten it right on, scrubbing down and tweaking their entire catalog. Whether you're a diehard fan or a neophyte that only knows them as that band with an album with a triangle and a rainbow on their album cover, you're going to want this. So how do you enter for your chance to win?

We're doing one giveaway through the site and you can enter to win that one using the contest form below. Easy!

We'll give away the second chance to win that catalog through the meet-up and you can enter that by RSVPing on the Do312 invitation page for our little party. Everyone that attends the meet-up will get a chance to win, but if you RSVP ahead of time you'll have an extra chance to win. Awesome!

The contest for the full Pink Floyd catalog offered through our site closes at 5 p.m. on November 16. You can enter to win the catalog we're giving away at the meet-up until the list for that even closes late November 17. (And if you don't win either box set, you can always buy your own or pick up the albums for a friend, perhaps the super expanded edition of Wish You Were Here that was just released (and when they say expanded, they ain't kidding), since the holidays are fast approaching.)

So enter for your chance to win, and RSVP to attend the party and we'll see you November 17!
