One Great Dish: Grand Plateaux of Seafood at Maude's

By Anthony Todd in Food on Nov 8, 2011 5:40PM

We've been craving this dish for a long time, and finally decided to tackle (get it, seafood?) it last week. If you're a seafood lover and want to be overwhelmed with happiness, make reservations at Maude's. But bring your cash - this beauty costs $85.

On the other hand, it's a pretty good haul (seafood again!) for your $85. The Grand Plateaux (we just like saying it) includes 2 dozen oysters, a dozen mussels, a dozen huge shrimp and salmon ceviche. That's 48 separate pieces of seafood. Paired with one of their wonderful cocktails or a cool, bubbly glass of champagne, and you've got heaven on ice for a seafood freak.

There is an even bigger version that includes lobster and crab and costs $130, but unless you're trying to serve four people, stick to the Grand Plateaux. No advance notice is required, and it only took them about 20 minutes to get it from the kitchen to our hot little hands. Order yours tonight.

Maude's Liquor Bar is located at 840 W. Randolph.
