Fundraiser

Blue Sky Bakery's second annual Cupcakes & Cocktails fundraiser benefiting their job training program for homeless and formerly incarcerated youth, takes place 6-9 p.m. tomorrow at Intuit Gallery. (756 N. Milwaukee Avenue) The evening will feature sweet and savory cupcakes prepared by Blue Sky staff, paired with custom cocktails created and poured by expert mixologists from the U.S. Bartenders Guild. A cupcake contest will also be held at the event: they'll supply the cake, icings, fillings, and toppings, and you can assemble it to eat or enter into a contest we'll be holding that night. The contest will be judged by Amanda Rockman, pastry chef at The Bristol and contestant on Top Chef: Just Desserts. Silent auction includes items from Avec, Paris Club, Lush Wine & Spirits, Hearty, Purple Pig, and tickets from the Bears, Bulls, White Sox and Blackhawks. Tickets will be $40 in advance, $45 at the door. You can purchase tickets at Blue Sky Bakery & Cafe (3720 N. Lincoln Ave.) or online here.
