Tomorrow Never Knows Announces Partial 2012 Lineup, Tix Onsale Friday

Tomorrow Never Knows has become an institution in Chicago, introducing (or reintroducing) us to up and coming artists from all over the world. The winter music festival has expanded considerably over its 8 years, from a three day album release party at Schubas to a five day festival that includes Lincoln Hall, Metro and now Smartbar and the Hideout. TNK gives us a little something to look forward to as the temps plummet after the holiday cheer wears off. With the first freeze in sight, they have announced the initial lineup, so break open the spine on next year’s calendar (or just tab on over to 2012 if you’re tech savvy) and mark January 11-15 for this (okay technically next) year’s event.
The Walkmen tops one of the bills with a special tenth anniversary celebration of their debut album Everyone Who Pretended to Like Me is Gone. Electronic music fans can be excited for the addition of Smartbar as a venue, as well as acts like Nadastrom bringing Moombahton to the Metro. More shows are still to be announced, including comedy at Hideout. Find the full lineup (as it stands now) below.
Tickets for all shows go on sale this Friday at noon, including a limited number of five-day passes for $100.
