Return To Your Roots At CRC Fest

2011_11_15_CRC_Fest.jpg Returning for its third year, the Chicago Roots Collective Festival is taking over the Elbo Room this weekend with more than two dozen acts out of Chicago’s folk and roots community.

The fest goes down Friday and Saturday night and will be comprised of two stages; the downstairs stage will host full bands, while the upstairs stage will host acoustic-only performances. Friday night’s featured act is folk rock four-piece The Down Feathers, and pop rockers Common Shiner will be featured Saturday night.

Other notable acts include Verona Red, The Future Laureates, Bassel, Cobalt and the Hired Guns, Mike Mangione and the Union, The Local Strangers and Todd Kessler.

Tickets are available for $10 each night, or you can purchase a weekend pass for $15, which is a pretty sweet deal for two nights of continuous local music. Either way, 25% of the CRC Fest’s proceeds will go to the Old Town School of Folk Music. Check out the full lineup below, and keep your eye on CRC’s official site for fest updates and more on the bands.
