Discounted Tickets Available for Mercadito's Hennessey Spirited Dinner

Tickets for the next installment of Mercadito's "Spirited Dinner" series - set to take place on Monday, Nov. 21, at 6:30 p.m. and featuring a four-course meal plus paired Hennessy Cognac cocktails - are now available at a deep discount: If you buy one ticket at the regular price of $55, a second ticket will cost you only $25 (excludes tax and tip). These discounted tickets are in limited supply; to make reservations, call 312-329-9555.

Mercadito's monthly Spirited Dinner series sees Chef Patricio Sandoval creating original dishes to go along with cocktails made with a featured base spirit. Previous dinners have featured Fortaleza Tequila and Belvedere Vodka. And if you can't swing this month's dinner, the following installment (highlighting El Tesoro Tequila) will take place on December 19 (menu). Special events at Mercadito are typically lots of fun; we made it to a cooking demo earlier this year and enjoyed the show put on by Sandoval and the Mercadito team.

OSTIONES AL HORNO: Baked oysters, parsley, bacon cognac butter
Cognac Sour: Brandy, lemon, agave, seltzer

TACO DE CARNE: Grilled beef filet, cauliflower-asparagus, chipotle-cognac sauce, crispy potatoes
Sidecar: Hennessy VSOP, Cointreau, Lemon, orange peel

PIERNITAS DE PAVO: Smoked turkey legs, butternut squash puree, roasted vegetables & chiles toreados, cranberry-cognac sauce
Symphony of Moist Joy: Hennessy VS, Yellow Chartreuse, Créme de Menthe, Pomegranate syrup

ARROZ CON LECHE: Cogna-infused rice pudding, raisins, toasted almonds
