Bill Carmody's Wildcats improved to 4-0 on the season and won the Charleston Classic in Charleston, SC, thanks to Drew Crawford's 27 points. Crawford scored 72 points in Northwestern's three games to earn tournament MVP honors. John Shurna added 19 to back up Crawford, and their leadership will be a determining factor if NU expects to finally earn an NCAA tournament bid this season.

Eastern Illinois 67, Northern Illinois 55

Northern Illinois isn't very good on the hardwood. After pulling to within two points of tying the game midway through the second half thanks to a Tyler Storm jumper, Eastern Illinois went on a 16-1 run to cease all doubts they were the better team. Abdel Nader scored 11 points for the Huskies, while Storm added 10.

Furman 63, Loyola 51

Looks like it's going to be a long season for the Ramblers, as well. Loyola shot 10 for 26 in the second half as the Paladins pulled away. Joe Crisman had 12 points, Christian Thomas 11 and Denzel Brito 10 for Loyola, who return home after starting the season on the road.
