Fantasy Football Week 12: Turkey Day Edition

2011_9_24_fantasy_football.gif Happy Thanksgiving, football fans! What better way to spend a Thursday than stuffing yourself with pigskin and turkey?

We only have a few teams on the docket today and you'll get a full start/sit list this weekend, but let's go through who to start.

Teams playing today: Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions.

Starts:

1. Joe Flacco (QB) - The 49ers have been good this season and Flacco has been lukewarm, but when you pin brother against brother in the coaching slot, the veteran coach has more to prove. I like Flacco today.

2. Reggie Bush (RB) - Bush has been producing double digit fantasy points for the past four weeks and has increased his productivity with Matt Moore in the pocket. The Cowboys have a good rushing defense, but Bush is trying to prove he's still viable. I like him to do well.

3. Laurent Robinson (WR) - Miami may have stopped Tim Tebow, but Tebow isn't Tony Romo and the Cowboys have made a few improvements in the passing game. Robinson will probably do well for you today.

4. James Starks (RB) - Aaron Rodgers may have one hell of an arm, but he also knows strategy. Starks will see a lot of carries against a Lions defense that let Matt Forte make them look like a Swiss cheese defense. He's as good of option in the backfield as anybody today.

5. Torrey Smith (WR) - Smith had a breakout week last week against Cincinnati, whose defense should not be underestimated. Jim Harbaugh and the Niners are good, but Smith may see an increased workload after last week's performance.

Sits:

1. Matt Stafford (QB) - Green Bay's defense has continued to improve over the course of the season and Stafford's stock is continuing to decline. If the Bears can rock him off his game, the Packers should have no problems keeping him quiet.

2. Frank Gore (RB) - Baltimore's run defense is just too good. Gore still might be feeling soreness in that knee and the Ravens don't give a lot of room to run. He's probably better off not working for you this week.

3. Maurice Morris (RB) - Jahvid Best may be out again this week with a concussion, but even with the increased amount of carries, Morris may not be your best option against the Packers today.

4. Matt Moore (QB) - Bush may do well, but Moore may not. Dallas ranks 12th amongst passing defenses and Moore is still a little wet behind the ears. He had a good week last week, but I don't expect a repeat performance.

5. Michael Crabtree (WR) - He's probable for a start today, but I don't trust him against the Ravens passing defense. The front line for the 49ers may be good, but the Ravens secondary can only improve this season. With sibling rivalry on the line, I would stick with the veteran coach.

Those are your starts and sits for this Thanksgiving. Hope you all enjoy your holiday and I will see you on Sunday with a full list!
