While Lupe Fiasco's official full-length release in 2011, LASERS, was a massive, massive disappointment for this particular reporter (check out Tankboy's alternate take here), there's still no reason to write off Chicago's favorite West side son.

After all, even with Fiasco's fiasco, the rapper is still batting well over the artistic Mendoza line, as Food & Liquor, The Cool, and mixtape Enemy of the People are all still fantastic showcases of the rapper's talent and wit.

This Thanksgiving, Lupe, perhaps grateful for LASERS's strong commercial fortunes, issued a sequel to Enemy titled Friend of the People. Download it here.

In the first two hours after Lupe tweeted out the link to the tape, it's been shared on Facebook more than 1,000 times, and has been shared on Twitter more than 2,000 times. No matter what Lupe does next, even if it's for a terrible Twilight movie, Chicago music fans should be grateful that so many are paying attention to one of its most talented emcees.
