Earl Roberts, arrested and charged last week with murdering his ex-wife in a UIC Medical Center parking garage, has been ordered held without bail.

Roberts is alleged to have shot ex-wife Angela Bonds in the head as she was walking to her the parking garage with two men, one of them her boyfriend. Roberts allegedly ran up to the three wearing a hoodie and carrying a .357 revolver.

The three recognized Roberts after the hood fell from his head. Roberts is believed to have chased the other two men after shooting Bonds. The boyfriend hid in the bushes until the medical center was placed on lockdown and Roberts fled.

Roberts and Bonds both worked at UIC Medical Center as housekeepers. They separated seven years ago and were reportedly in the process of getting a divorce. Roberts also has a criminal record that includes arrests for pot possession, speeding, DUI and a 2008 guilty pleas for reckless conduct and weapons charges. He also had an order of protection filed against him in 1992.
