The Blackhawks looked sluggish in their return to home ice last night. A Patrick Sharp goal with 43 seconds left helped the Hawks avoid a shutout. Both Ray Emery and Corey Crawford were ineffective in goal, with Crawford taking the loss. On the plus side, Daniel Carcillo was entertaining, earning two penalties in less than five minutes in the third period.

Illinois 71, Maryland 62

Illinois improved to 7-0 and notched a win for the Big ten in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge thanks to Sam Maniscalco's 24 points. The Illini trailed by one point at the half and were in a tight contest before a Maniscalco 3-pointer sparked a 10-2 run. Brandon Paul added 17 for Illinois.

Northwestern 76, Georgia Tech 60

Northwestern added another win to the Big Ten's side of the ledger in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. John Shurna scored a game-high 25 points, including three 3-pointers, and grabbed eight rebounds to spur the Wildcats to victory. Drew Crawford scored 14 points and Luka Mirkovic had 13 for NU.
