Last Minute Plans: Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Market

2011_12_02_renegade_craft.jpg How about instead of fighting the crowds at the mall to buy your uncle some crummy tie, you go to the Renegade Craft Fair to pick up something unique, then tie it up in a handmade bow? The sixth annual Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Market returns this weekend with more than 150 vendors at the Pulaski Park Fieldhouse.

Handmade goods from clothing to ceramics to stationery to comic books will be available. See the Renegade website for a full list of vendors. For aspiring crafters, there will be interactive workshops, too, including zine-making with Chicago Zine Fest. CHIRP Radio will be DJing, and Reckless Records and Dusty Groove will be selling records.

The event is an extension of the Do-Division Holiday Walk and Unwrapped WPB Holiday Passport program, so you can take the free Renegade Holiday Trolley to hit all of the holiday spots.

When you've picked out holiday presents, wrap it up with handmade decorations at the DIY Gift Wrap Workshop, then grab food from Flying Saucer or Black Dog Gelato.
