Local Cut-Ups Make Sport Of The Bears, MST3K-Style

By Staff in Arts & Entertainment on Dec 6, 2011 10:00PM

2009_04_schadenfreude.jpg Word to the MSTies: Chicago’s famed sketch troupe Schadenfreude may not have the "class" of Cris Collinsworth, but that won't stop them from running acerbic color commentary on this Sunday’s Bears game, in the proud Mystery Science Theater 3000 tradition, at Lincoln Hall. The Bears are facing the Denver Broncos and every Christian's favorite quarterback Tim Tebow. It’s sponsored by Angel's Envy, which will host an open bar at 3 p.m. for early arrivals.

The stacked special-guest roster includes Cook County Social Club, Katie Rich of Second City, A.V. Club editor (and former Chicagoist editor) Marcus Gilmer, Sara Jindra of WBEZ, Samantha Irby of Bitches Gotta Eat, Ernest Wilkins from Red Eye, Ald. Scott Waguespack (32nd), former Ald. Burt Natarus (42nd) (who is apparently Angel's Envy’s go-to pol for these things). At press time, there was still no official endorsement from John Madden (or his pancake makeup artist), but the night is young.

Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., Sunday, Dec., 11, 3 p.m., $5
