Gas Explosion at Skokie Home Injures One

Look at that photo. That's from the aftermath of an explosion that blew the front off an apartment building in Skokie this morning.
At least one person was hurt by flying debris when the building suffered a gas explosion around 8:30 a.m. James Smith, who lives in the area, said all he "looked out the window and saw flames" but didn't hear an explosion. Smith also said that both apartments in the two-flat were, thankfully, vacant. Otherwise we may be talking about fatalities tight now.
