Here's a story that calls to mind one of our favorite scenes from Planes, Trains and Automobiles. 24-year-old Sergio Galvez-Delira was charged overnight with driving under the influence, reckless driving, having open alcohol, no insurance and improper lane usage after he was found driving against traffic on the Edens Expressway.

For 11 miles.

Illinois State Police said they received 15 calls from other motorists reporting they were nearly sideswiped by cars avoiding a black SUV from as far south as Elston Avenue. Authorities believe the combination of the early hour, lack of cars on the road and calls from other drivers prevented Galvez-Delira's thrill ride from becoming tragic.

“He was definitely moving at a decent clip, and basically we’re lucky that no one got injured,” ISP Trooper Ivan Bukaczyk said.

No shit. Now, let's watch some John Candy.
