A $2 million bond has been set for a Harvard woman accused of stabbing an infant in the head. If this woman did do what she's alleged to have done, what the hell is wrong with people?

Police in Harvard were called to a home around 10 a.m. yesterday and found a nine-month old baby boy bleeding from the face. The infant was treated by paramedics and taken to Mercy Hospital in Harvard before being airlifted to Rockford Memorial Hospital. As of last night, the infant was in critical condition.

According to Harvard Police Chief Dan Kazy-Garey, investigators recovered a weapon, but wouldn't say what it was. Nor would the disclose Mejia's relationship to the baby or why she allegedly decided to stab him.

Mejia is currently in McHenry County Jail after appearing in bond court. She's charged with attempted murder and aggravated battery to a child, both Class X felonies.
