At last, the Bulls opened their preseason and what better way to do it than a win against the Pacers. Newly acquired Rip Hamilton wasn't on the court, but rookie Jimmy Butler showed he was going to mesh well with the team with 8 points. Despite sitting out much of the first quarter with foul trouble, Derrick Rose picked up where he left off and led the team with 16 points. The Bulls only shot 43 percent from the field, but their defense held up and helped them show why they're potential championship contenders.

Blackhawks 4, Ducks 1

The Blackhawks topped the struggling Ducks at the United Center Friday night to win their fourth straight. Hawks goalie Ray Emery is starting to emerge as the Hawks number one goalie stopping 24 of 25 shots against the Ducks. Patrick Sharp and Marian Hossa played give and take with one goal and one assist each, both helping the other one out in net.
