Still Looking for Holiday Cookie Ideas? Here Are a Dozen.

By Anthony Todd in Food on Dec 19, 2011 5:20PM

For bakers, this week is the home stretch - dozens and dozens of cookies to bake for family, friends, colleagues and potential business partners. Plates of cookies are zipping around the city like swarms of bees, and we can forgive any baker who is getting bored with their standard recipes. Enter Lottie + Doof, the Oak Park-based food blog that just finished "12 Days of Cookies."

Watching the cookies go by for the past two weeks on the blog has made us positively ravenous. A combination of original recipes and collaborations with food bloggers, 12 Days of Cookies was started by Lottie + Doof's founder Tim Mazurek and debuted at Dose Market a few weeks ago; we were too busy stuffing ourselves with fried chicken to notice. Mazurek teamed up with Sandra Holl of Floriole to sell cookies, and we can say with total confidence that if Sandra endorses a pastry item, we are on board.

Our favorite recipes include Fig and Date Swirls, Poppy Seed-Honey Cookies, and Cinna-Minis (all pictured above). Hopefully, the mouth-watering pictures will give you the energy you need for that final baking push. Grab the recipes and create a new holiday cookie tradition.
