Skype Offering Free Wi-Fi at Airports for the Holidays

2011_12_20_skype.jpg Skype is doing holiday travelers flying for the holidays a solid this season. Starting tomorrow, the Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) service will offer their users one free hour of wireless internet at 50 airports across the country. Both O'Hare and Midway Airports are among the 50.

Now before you start looking at the proverbial glass as half-empty here, keep in mind that neither O'Hare nor Midway currently offer free wi-fi. If you're flying home for the holidays, chances are that you'll be facing a delay. The Skype offer, which will use third-party wireless hotspots, will be a great way to make a quick voice or video call to keep the people waiting for you abreast of your travel plans.

All you need to do is make sure you have the latest version of Skype for PC, Mac, or iOS, log in with a valid Skype ID, and chat away.
