How To Make Homemade Chex Snack Mix

Everything holiday-related can be extended through the New Year if you really want it to. That includes holiday foods! If you want to keep the celebration-through-food going, but are sick of baking and cookies and all things sugary, this is a great option.

Like many other snacks, it's so much better when you make it yourself. Last week, we made Nutella - now try making this classic snack yourself. The key to making this? Doubling the good stuff. You're doing it right if people can smell it on your breath for hours after eating it.

Ingredients
3 cups Corn Chex cereal
3 cups Rice Chex cereal
3 cups Wheat Chex cereal
1/2 cup butter (one whole stick)
1 1/2 cups stick pretzels
1 cup cheerios
2 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons seasoned salt
1 ½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder

Directions
In large microwavable bowl, mix cereals, pretzels and Cheerios; set aside. In small microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in seasonings. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated.

Heat oven to 250°F. Pour mixture into an ungreased large roasting pan. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool, about 15 minutes. Store in an airtight container.
