Pencil This In: Mahr's Christmas Keg and Cast Tapping at The Bavarian Lodge
By Chuck Sudo in Food on Dec 29, 2011 6:30PM
Come celebrate the finest in German artisan brewing with a rare opportunity to try six different Mahr's beers at the Bavarian Lodge in Lisle. This tiny brewery in historic Bamberg, Germany is an offshoot of one of the city’s best pubs, and a rare example of artisanal brewing in a land of increased mass production, consolidation, and narrowing of popular tastes. They'll be tapping two drafts at 4 p.m. — Mahr's "Der Weisse Bock"
and Mahr's Pilsener, and three casks at 5 p.m. &Mdash; Mahr's Christmas Bock,
Mahr's Heller Bock, and Mahr's Ungespundet Lager. (1800 Ogden Ave., Lisle)
