Wine Wednesday: This Weekend's Wine Tastings

It's a new year and a new you. If your New Year's resolution is to drink more wine (ours is), here are the tastings taking place in Chicago and surrounding areas this weekend.

Thursday, Jan. 5:

WineStyles Belmont is hosting an “Old World” tasting. Rob Merritt from Merritt Wines is showing up with two Loire Valley wines. The tasting runs from 6-8pm. Cost: Free.

WineStyles Belmont is located at 1433 W. Belmont Ave.

Friday, Jan. 6:

Vintages in Arlington Heights is hosting a wine tasting on Friday that will take you around the world with bottles priced at $20 or less. Tasting selections include Biokult Grune Veltliner (Austria), Faiveley Macon-Villages (Burgundy, France), M5 Monastrell (Spain), Crasto Tinto (Portugal), and Candoni Moscato d’Italia (Italy). The tasting runs from 5-8pm. Cost: $5, but if you buy something, the $5 is credited towards your purchase.

Vintages is located at 12 S. Dunton Ave, a block south of the Arlington Heights Metra.

Saturday, Jan. 7:

Mainstreet in Countryside is hosting “Pinots on Parade.” You can expect to taste Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Grigio. This tasting runs from 2-6pm. Cost: Free.

Mainstreet is located at 5425 South La Grange Road, 2 miles south of the La Grange Road Metra.
