GlitterGuts 4th Anniversary: Jukefest And The Underground Dollar Store

2012_01_jukefest.jpg Chicago's premier nightlife photographers, GlitterGuts, have been around for a little while. Four years, in fact. Over that time, the GlitterGuts crew have set up photobooths at countless parties of all types—everything from concerts to burlesque shows. Chances are, if you do any sort of clubbing, you're in one of their photos. This Saturday, GlitterGuts will celebrate four years of prolific and quality work by throwing the fourth annual Jukefest and Underground Dollar Store at Lincoln Hall.

From 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Lincoln Hall will be taken over by pop-up shops selling music, food, art, clothes, from arists including Ann Klacko, BackGarage, Hot Jams Records, Kokorokoko, Lipstick Dinosaur, and Moneyworth (whose rapper candles are a must for any Rick Ross, R. Kelly, or Lil B fan), all for under $20. There will also be performances throughout the day from Qbot, Jams Dean, Team Bayside High, Mother Hubbard and more.

From 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., the Underground Dollar Store will turn into Jukefest. Juke, footwork, and its ever-so-eccentric offshoots will be represented, with performances by BBU, DJ Gant Man, DJ Demchuk, Molly Bass, Starfoxxx, and Sich Mang rounding out the all-day event. Entry is $3 before 8 p.m., and $8 after. We highly recommend checking it out, and congratulations to GlitterGuts on an impressive four years!
