Two Great January Deals: Burgers and Wine

January is the slowest month of the year for most restaurants. For customers, this means deals galore. Even better, it's not just struggling restaurants that discount - award-winning spots have to get people in the door too. Two great Chicago restaurants are running deals in January that could save you a bucket of cash - check them out.
MK has discounted their entire wine cellar. Every bottle they've got is 50% off in January. If you're a wine lover but can never bring yourself to spend the money to buy a nice bottle at a high-end restaurant, this is your chance. MK's wine list (which has Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence) is a 26-page-long thing of beauty, and you won't have to worry about anyone looking down their nose at you for ordering cheap wine; it's all on sale! The offer is only available Sunday-Thursday.
Custom House Tavern's burger was named one of the 25 best burgers in the United States by Food and Wine Magazine. Normally, it's $14 - not outrageous, but definitely a step up from your corner greasy spoon. This weekend, through Sunday night, the burger is just $5. That's about a buck more than a McDonald's Big Mac! Their burger is made three kinds of meat, mixed together: ground steak, pork chop and short rib. It's topped with house-cured bacon, homemade steak sauce and cheddar cheese. You'll probably see us wolfing one down on Saturday night.
