Andrew Bird Announces New Album Details

2012_1_10_Break It Yourself 640.jpg Everybody’s favorite whistling indie violinist released details on his new album yesterday, due out March 6 on Mom & Pop records. Revealed are the album art (above) and track listing for Break It Yourself (below), along with a short teaser video that shows Bird and crew at work (and play) at his western Illinois barn where the album was recorded.

Bird, who recently treated his home city to a unique sonic installation at the Museum of Contemporary Art (where he was—sorry ladies—sporting what appeared to be a wedding band), will mark the album release with a North American tour that closes out back in Chicago with a show at the Auditorium Theater on May 12. Ticket buyers receive a free download of Break It Yourself (on the release date), along with a download of Fake Conversations, a live EP culled from Bird’s fall 2011 tour, and another live EP from this very tour in the spring. That’s a pretty jam-packed package for tickets ranging from $29.50 to $49.50 for the Auditorium Theater appearance.
