Piece Brewery & Pizzeria, home to some of the best pizza in the city, bought the building it occupies in Wicker Park. The owners closed on the property last Thursday, paying close to $4.3 million.

• BBQ restaurant Lillie's Q is hosting a six course Mexican pop-up dinner on Tuesday, January 24. The $45 menu will include dishes like green pork pozole and shrimp chile relleno, and you can add $20 drink pairings. Most pairings are sips from 5 Rabbit Brewery, my new favorite brewery in Chicago. The Latin brewery's Vida y Muerte, which will be served during the dinner, is a dulce de leche-laden dream. Check out the full menu on Grub Street. Tickets are available for the 6, 9, and 9:30 p.m. seatings and you can get them here.

Green City Market returns to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum starting this Saturday. The market, which is open 8 a.m.-1 p.m., is celebrating its return with a demo from Matthias Merges of Yusho at 10:30 a.m., and a Superbowl Chili Cookoff Contest. Shop the market the next two weekends for ingredients, then submit your recipe by January 23. The finalists will be judged at the market on February 4, and the winner gets a ticket to the Green City Market Chefs BBQ Benefit on July 12. Get more details here.
