Derrick Rose was given another game off to rest his turf toe. Unfortunately, the rest of the Bulls played as though they wanted to join him on the bench. The Grizzlies got off to a fast start and built a 21-point lead late in the second quarter. The Bulls cut that lead down to nine points in the final quarter before running out of gas.

Luol Deng led the Bulls with 20 points. CJ Watson, playing for the first time in nine games, added 17 and Taj Gibson scored 16. Rudy Gay led all scorers with 24 points and Michael Conley added 20 for Memphis, who had a 46-34 edge in rebounds and dished out 23 assists to the Bulls' 12.
