Found In Town: A Service For Scatterbrains

Found in Town is a new company that will help track down your lost items for you. If you're the type of person who regularly leaves your cell phone in cabs and drops your keys at bars, you might want to sign up.
All you have to do is register with the company online. It's free. Then, you'll receive a free key chain and five stickers to put on anything you might lose, like laptops and jackets. The sticker bears a unique serial number and web address. Then, when someone finds the lost item, he or she can report it to Found in Town.
The service is free because the keychains are sponsored by Chicago-area businesses. When registering, one can choose which company that is, and then the company may offer discounts for its keychain holders. Currently there are four to choose from: The Closet, Minibar, Halsted’s Bar + Grill and DS Tequila.
The company is off to a humble start now, but this certainly has potential. While it's not guaranteed someone will find your stuff if you lose it, you don't have anything to lose by signing up.
