The Blackhawks dictated the pace for most of the game last night and were able to score on Antti Niemi. Niemi wound up facing a total of 40 shots, versus Corey Crawford's 24. The Hawks' front line set the tone last night as Viktor Stalberg and Jonathan Toews each had a goal and an assist. Dave Bolland also scored and impressive rookie Andrew Shaw provided the margin of victory with a third-period goal. Shaw is playing so well that some Blackhawks fans are running out to buy his jersey right now.
With the win, the Blackhawks now stand atop the point totals in the NHL with 60. Their Central division is turning out to be the toughest in the NHL. Only six points separate the Hawks from fourth place Nashville. The Hawks next game is Wednesday night against Buffalo at the United Center. (6:30 p.m., NBC Sports, WGN-AM 720)
