The Blackhawks sent Buffalo to their 10th straight road loss last night thanks to an offensive explosion. Jonathan Toews scored twice on the power play to extend his goal scoring streak to three games and give him a team-high 26 goals, while rookies Jimmy Hayes and Andrew Shaw continued to impress. Shaw drew first blood with a first period goal and now has five goals in his first eight NHL games. Hayes took a nice pass from Andrew Brunette and buried a wrist shot in the net. Dave Bolland and Marian Hossa rounded out the scoring for the Hawks, who outshot the Sabres 37-25.
Wisconsin dropped to 2-4 in Big Ten play with last night's loss at the Kohl Center. Wisconsin used a 17-2 run in the second half to earn the win and improve to 4-3 in the conference. Jordan Taylor scored nine of his 15 points in that run and Ryan Evans scored a team-high 17 for the Badgers. NU's John Shurna led all scorers with 19 points. Drew Crawford added 17 and Reggie Hearn 11 for the Wildcats.
