Musician Glen Shulfer snuck this photo of himself into the slideshow accompanying his song, "Stand With Governor Walker."

Someone loves Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker so much that he wrote a song about him. Wisconsin musician Glen Shulfer wrote this power ballad "Stand With Governor Walker" to support the governor as he faces the challenge of a recall with more than a million petition signatures.

The accompanying video plays the song over photos of the governor and photos from the last year of protests and unrest over the issue of collective bargaining in Wisconsin. He even sneaks in a photo of a lion tamer because as the chorus says, "We will stand with Governor Walker. Because he does what he says; not just a big fancy talker." As you might expect, Shulfer isn't really a big fan of unions. Here is a sample verse:

He took on the deficit, and asked the union folks to pay just a teeny-tiny bit, to make it fair in every way. A balanced budget, he can claim without taxing you and me. And in the end it wasn't shame, but a total victory.

Shulfer's YouTube channel has about two dozen songs, most of which appear to be religious and many of which are based on psalms. At the height of the protests in March 2011, Shulfer put out another politically charged song called, "Union Man." The pro-Union lyrics are performed with a sinister tone. A sample:

I get a big fat pension when I'm 55, so I can suck up all the taxpayers dry. Got to give me more. C'mon and give me more!

It sounds like Wisconsin musicians need to create some pro-collective bargaining propaganda. Maybe the Violent Femmes need to tell them to "Kiss Off," or Bon Iver could just lull the opposition to sleep. The BoDeans can't be the only ones trying to keep Wisconsin "Closer to Free."
