Man Arrested For Kicking Kitten Like A Football

A man was charged with animal cruelty after police officers saw him kicking his kitten like a football. His defense? "This is my cat, Nightmare," he told police. "He is tough, we play like that all the time -- it's just a cat,"
Officers saw Percy Love, 22, take a running start and kick his black kitten Monday afternoon, sending the kitten 15 to 18 feet into the air, according to a police report.Love then placed both his arms up in the air as if to signal a "field goal," and began laughing, the report stated.
The kitten is with Animal Care and Control now, and they say he's very friendly. Nightmare is less than a year old and did not suffer life-threatening injuries, but vets were taking x-rays.
Love is in jail on $50,000 bail.
