Treat Restaurant Gets The Band Back Together For Pop-Up Brunch This Weekend

2011_3_21-TREAT.jpg A few of here at Chicagoist were stunned last April when Tamiz Haiderali closed down his Humboldt Park restaurant, Treat. Most were surprised by the timing; Treat received a warm reception on Check Please and business had never been better. But, as Halderali noted in his farewell email, Treat had outgrown its space and the time was ripe to close.

Halderali hinted to me that he was gearing up for some things when we spoke during the Soup & Bread cookbook release party. Maybe this weekend's pop-up brunch at Township in Logan Square is one of these events. Halderali, in an email to media, said he's rounding up many of the familiar faces and dishes from Treat like Benedicts, Savory Pancakes, Saag Paneer are being served alongside some new menu items, with Dark Matter coffee being poured to all who want it.

Halderali stresses that this pop-up brunch is cash only while he sets up new digs, and seating is limited. To RSVP, call 773-384-1865 or email: treatrestaurant@gmail.com.

Township is located at 2200 N. California Ave.
