Friday Flashback: Chicago Landmarks Under Construction

The Chicago History Museum maintains archives of the photographs taken by the old Chicago Daily News, and we got lost in their 1902-1933 archives. We leafed through to find some of Chicago's buildings when they were just little kids, growing up out of the ground. The old photo is in the top row, and its corresponding contemporary is directly below it.
See the Adler Planetarium, Navy Pier, the Northern Trust Bank Building, Harper Library and the Mandel Brothers Store. One building in the gallery you won't see in the city today. That's the LaSalle Hotel, which tragically burned down in 1946 killing 61 people.
