Baseball

We're a few weeks away from the surest sign that winter, even one as pleasant as this year's, is almost over: pitchers and catchers report to spring training. SABR Day1039 W. Granville Ave.) from noon-5 p.m. tomorrow. Don't sweat being a member of SABR—if you want to be one, you'll find out about it. But the focus is on baseball talk, so if you want to talk Cubs, White Sox, or baseball the whole world over, come on by.

Beer

The Local Option is having some fun with the whole Occupy Chicago movement by renaming their bar "Beer Plaza" for the day and hosting a monster beer tasting starting at 3 p.m. The beer list for this event is longer than the everyday beer menus at other bars and has something for everyone. (1102 W. Webster)

Music

Delmar Records has a special night of Chicago blues on store at B.L.U.E.S. on Halsted Sunday night with a reunion of Rockin' Johnny Burgin and Jimmy Burns. The two haven't together in over a decade and, as opposed to the rote Chicago blues that caters to the tourists and college student crowds, this is going to be a "less is more" show in what Delmar hopes becomes an ongoing monthly showcase for their roster of artists. (2519 N. Halsted St., 9:30 p.m.)
