Derrick Rose showed once again why he's the reigning MVP by helping the Bulls beat Milwaukee Friday night at the United Center. Rose had 34 points and shot 58 percent from the field to out battle Bucks guard Brandon Jennings and help lift the Bulls over the Bucks. Carlos Boozer had 20 points and 13 rebounds and Joakim Noah had 15 points and 16 rebounds, registering double-doubles for both players. The Bulls' win over Milwaukee was a prelude to their upcoming season long nine-game road trip. Bulls will return to the United Center on February 14 to face the Sacramento Kings.

Wright State 47, Loyola of Chicago 41

The Raiders swept the series of meetings against Loyola of Chicago with a win on Friday. The Ramblers led 20-17 at the half and carried the lead into the second half with about 15 minutes to play, but Wright State went on a 15-0 run to get the lead and hold it for the lowest scoring game of their season.

Detroit 70, Illinois-Chicago 66

Detroit staved off a Flames' comeback Friday to win their 12th game of the season. Illinois-Chicago trailed by 15 points going into the second half and rallied to within two with the help of guard Gary Talton, who led the team with 17 points. The Flames trailed 68-66 with only 38 seconds left in the game, but the Titans held them off with free throws to pull out the win.
