Local Couple Who Put Baby Name Suggestions To Facebook Vote Has Daughter

From today's Sun-Times, a Crystal Lake couple who put their baby name choices up for a vote on Facebook have had a daughter.

Dave and Lindsey Meske couldn't choose between Madelyn (Dave's choice) or Lindsey's preference for McKenna. So they set up a Facebook poll, added Emily and Addilyne to the choices, and told anyone and everyone to vote early and often.

By the time the Meskes ended the poll yesterday as Lindsey was having labor induced, more than 4,200 people voted, with Madelyn winning out. Facebook users from as far away as Iceland, Australia, Germany and New Zealand cast votes, which surprised Dave. Lindsey, meanwhile, was lobbying her friends and family to vote for McKenna, which came in third place behind Madelyn and Emily. "“I’m really OK with it," she told the Sun-Times.
