Do This: SmallBar Fullerton's Second Anniversary

2012_2_8_smallbar_full.jpg SmallBar has worked its way up to near the top of Chicago's crowded craft beer bar field in a seeming short amount of time. And with good reason: they respect the beer they serve and aim to educate their customers as well as keep them stoked in tasty malt beverages.

SmallBar's Fullerton Avenue location is entering its terrible twos this year and owner/Gm Phil McFarland and company are throwing a blowout celebration Feb. 24 with a tasting of sour beers that will challenge the heartiest of taste buds.

The list of beers for the evening include:

Jolly Pumpkin - Cherry Bam Noire on cask
Brasserie Cantillon - Fou 'Foune Apricot Lambic
New Holland - Blue Sunday
Brouwerij Bockor - Bellegems Bruin
Brouwerij de Keersmaeker - Mort Subite Witte Lambic
Cisco Brewers - Lady of the Woods
New Belgium - La Folie
New Belgium - Eric's Ale
Dogfish Head - Noble Rot
Brouwerij Bockor - Cuvee des Jacobins Rouge
Two Brothers - Askew
Brouwerij Boon - Kriek

SmallBar will also have a live sour-blending demonstration by Eric Salazar of New Belgium Brewing. Salazar is the point man for New Belgium's foudre program and wood cellar. The first 30 guests to buy a New Belgium beer at the event will get a shot at one of the limited $6 tickets which include the demo, tasting and a Q&A session.

SmallBar Fullerton's Two Year Anniversary Sour Beer Night runs from 6-9 p.m. Feb. 24
