Nikon is putting forth an all-out media assault in promoting its new D800 DSLR camera. The camera, with 36.3 megapixels, is capable of 1080p HD video with stereo sound. But is it worth the $3,000 price tag?

Nikon thinks so and, to prove it, they enlisted legendary Chicago-based portrait photographer Sandro Miller to film a five-minute video with the camera. Miller's photos have appeared in The New Yorker, GQ, Esquire, Time, Forbes and other magazines, and he's done contract work for Coca-Cola, BMW, Nike, Gatorade and... Nikon.

The video Miller shot is based around a script that follow a man on a crotch rocket as he motors across the city. You see the motorcycist race down Michigan Avenue, idle past a biker gang in Wicker Park, and stop to watch the birth of a baby and take in the sunrise on Lake Michigan. Watch it below. (Discretion advised.)
