Reel Talk At Facets

2012_02_15_reel_talk.jpg To help kick off its awesome lineup of new film classes, Facets is throwing a party. Not the raucous kind with music that's too loud and cigarette butts on the floor everywhere, but a lively, talkative one. With lots of film clips.

Reel Talk: Film Scholars on Tap is Monday, February 20 at 6:30pm. The evening begins in Facets' Cinémathèque with presentations by three of the instructors who will be leading the upcoming film classes, illustrated with film clips. To refresh your memory, the classes are "CINEMA OF ABSENCE: Elusive Objects of Desire," "ALAIN RESNAIS and His World of Imagination," "COUTURE CINEMA: The World of Fashion on Film," and "JAMES CAGNEY: Superhero of the Depression." Think of Reel Talk as a way to get a taste of what's to come. Discussion is encouraged, both in the theater and during the reception which will follow, sponsored by Lagunitas Brewing Company.

Space is limited, so Facets is recommending that you register early. Just go here, use the discount code REELTALK and you'll pay only $10. For a movie discussion with refreshments it's quite a deal.

Facets Multi-Media is at 1517 W Fullerton.
