How Not To Cheat On A Drug Test: Don't Microwave A Fake Urine Sample

2012_2_16_urine_sample.jpg People will go to any length to cheat on a drug test: fake pee; or trying to sneak a clean sample past testers with a Whizzinator.

Until today, we've never heard of a case where someone tried to microwave someone else's pee to cheat a drug test. That happened in Sandwich, IL Tuesday. Richard Crothers IV was charged with a Class 4 Felony after he zapped a urine sample a little bit to give the impression it was fresh from the pump, so to speak.

Hot or cold, a test on the sample conducted by a DeKalb County probation officer probation officer at the Sandwich courthouse determined the sample was not Crothers'. The probation officer notified police, who believe Crothers microwaved the sample and hid it on his person before he turned it in.

Crothers is charged with defrauding a drug and alcohol screening test. The lesson learned here: no two pees, like snowflakes, are alike.
