• The Bedford hosts School of Sip and Shuck on February 28 at 7:30 p.m. The class, taught by Executive Chef Mark Steuer and Peter Gugni, the restaurant’s general manager and mixologist, will teach how to shuck oysters and pair them with champagne. The $30 ticket price includes a dozen oysters and a variety of champagnes to sip on.
• Donate to a good cause and go home with one of the top cupcakes in the city at Southport Grocery and Cafe. When you bring in a canned or non-perishable food item, you’ll get a cupcake in return. Southport Grocery will be donating items to Lakeview Pantry. The promotion runs until February 26.
• Grubstreet reports that Takashi Yagihashi of Takashi and Slurping Turtle will be making an appearance on Top Chef next week, possibly during the Quickfire Challenge. But that isn’t the only food show he’ll be on in the coming weeks—see him compete on Iron Chef America on April 1.
