For much of last night's contest at the United Center it appeared as though Marian Hossa's second period goal would be all the Blackhawks would need to extend their winning streak to five games. Then Dallas took the ice in the third period and blitzed Corey Crawford. The Stars, who had 10 shots on goal through the first two periods, pushed the puck past Crawford on three of their 15 shots in the final 20 minutes of play. Michael Ryder's goal with 5:02 left in regulation proved to be the game winner. Loui Eriksson added an insurance goal at the 16:12 mark. The game itself was a beauty to watch, with only one penalty called and the two teams changing shifts with ease. The win moves Dallas into playoff contention as the Western Conference's eighth seed, while the Blackhawks maintain the sixth spot in the conference.
