@MayorEmanuel Made A Brief Return From The Vortex Last Night

A year ago last night Dan Sinker put an end to his Epic Fucking Twitter Quest of @MayorEmanuel, sending his profane fictionalized version of our current Elective Majesty into a time vortex.

Last night, that Emanuel made a return appearance during the beginning of the storm that's currently dumping snow on us with a series of binary code, then returned to the vortex again. (Sinker deleted the tweet soon after.)

The response was predictably Pavlovian as people forwarded the tweet and worked to decipher the binary code. For all we know, that code could simply spell out "fuck" in all its variations.

Judging from the response, people still prefer Sinker's take on Emanuel to the real deal. It also shows the power of good storytelling. For all the criticisms levied on Sinker after he outed himself as @MayorEmanuel, he did show the possibilities of twitter as a storytelling medium. With over 100 characters of binary code last night, he proved it again. Fans of the @mayoremanuel feed may now want to keep an eye on the weather forecasts to see when the next storm may signal another return from the vortex.
