Louis Farrakhan: "Racial Hatred" Could Lead To Obama Assassination Attempts

Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan, in a wide-ranging speech at his group's annual convention in Chicago yesterday, said that President Barack Obama has been criticized more than any president in recent memory because of his race, and that criticism could lead to possible assassination attempts.
Farrakhan spent an hour backing up his claim with photos and slides to illustrate disparaging remarks made by GOP presidential contenders, right wing pundits, local political leaders, and political cartoons from other countries that, among other things, depicted Obama to Hitler.
“They have called President Barack Obama a racist, an anti-Semite, a socialist, a communist, a foreigner, an alien and some have even called him a terrorist,” Farrakhan said. “Obama has really got them upset. Republicans are looking for some white person. Anybody. Anybody.”
Farrakhan said that the criticism, and what he calls manipulation by Obama's confidants, could result in his becoming a one-term president. This isn't the first time Farrakhan has made this claim, but it is the most overt.
Last June, Farrakhan criticized the president's handling of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the U.S. military's intervention in Libya, calling Obama an "assassin" and "murderer."
