Local new wavers Big Science took us by surprise back in 2008 with their debut EP, The Coast of Nowhere, and then they kept our attention with the follow-up EP, Skyscraper Sound. Since then, there were some mishaps—they parted ways with a guitarist and brought on another, and they had had their van stolen—but the band kept on keeping on and are finally gearing up for the release of their first full-length album, Difficulty.

The self-released ten-track album is due out May 29 in digital form as well as limited vinyl pressing. To hype it up, they’ve shared Difficulty’s first single “No One Ever Wakes Up,” which suggests the new album will embrace the same danceable energy and infectious pop charm we’ve come to love. Check it out for yourself: stream or download the track for free through Orange Alert.
