We reported last year on the plight of the Chicago Honey Co-Op, which has to find a new home for its beehives after eight years in the same location. The move is planned for next month, but the fundraising continues. This time, they're bringing some friends. Lula Café, Yusho, The Trencherman and Chicago Cupcake have teamed up with Logan Square Kitchen to host a gourmet movie screening this weekend.

Appropriately enough, they will be showing Vanishing of the Bees, a documentary about the mysterious disappearance of honeybees from ecosystems around the world. The phenomenon, known as Colony Collapse Disorder, may have significant implications for global agriculture. Plus, it's totally appropriate for this fundraiser, as the Chicago Honey Co-Op is working to bring more bees to Chicago. Take a look at the trailer below.

For $20, guests can buy a ticket to one of four movie screenings. The price includes a snack or a drink, and additional snacks will be available for purchase. The event promises to have some pretty awesome snacks: Yusho will be bringing honeycomb brittle with chocolate drizzle and Chicago Cupcake will be serving mini blueberry cupcakes. Tona Palomino of The Trencherman will be pouring drinks.

The screenings are at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday - plenty of different times to fit this event into your weekend. Buy tickets online before the event. Remember, if you can't attend, you can buy some goodies from their online store to help out.

Logan Square Kitchen is located at 2333 N. Milwaukee Avenue.
