Man Who Kicked Cat Like A Football Gets 90 Days In Jail

Remember the January story of Percy Love, who was charged with animal cruelty after police found him kicking his cat like a football and signaling a successful field goal?

Well, Love was sentenced to 90 days in jail for the incident by a Cook County judge Tuesday. It's probably a fair sentencing, and yet it doesn't seem, so all the same. Love will receive credit for 37 days served and, most important, will not get his cat, Nightmare, back.

Remember what Love told police when they caught him punting NIghtmare?

"This is my cat, Nightmare," he told police. "He is tough, we play like that all the time -- it's just a cat."

90 days in jail is a lot of time for some soccer fan in jail to size up Love and work on his corner kicks.
