The Hawkeyes had the Wildcats on the ropes, until a 17-0 run late in the first half by Northwestern. Drew Crawford had 18 points and Iowa limited John Shurna's productivity with only nine points. After losing two of their last three games, the Wildcats' win over Iowa helps put them in bid position for their first NCAA Tournament. Northwestern's Alex Marcotullio sank two free throws to seal the game for the Wildcats.
In a strong showing Saturday, DePaul broke its nine game losing streak to beat Seton Hall, causing the Pirates to lose the No. 8 seed in the conference tournament. Jamee Crockett led the Blue Demons with 21 points, followed by Jeremiah Kelly, who had 15 points in his last home game. DePaul gets the No. 16 seed in the Big East tournament.
New Jersey Tech 58, Chicago State 50
Chicago State had the lead with just over six minutes to play in the half when the Highlanders went on a 12-0 run to take the lead before the half and maintain it through the game. The Cougars' Matt Samuels led the team with 16 points and outshot Chicago State with 40.4 percent from the field, but New Jersey Tech outrebounded the Cougars 43-36, which seemed to be the difference in the game.
