Man Accused Of Tossing Girlfriend's Dog From Porch During Argument

Darrick Sharkey of the 4200 block of West Iowa Street has been charged with one felony count of aggravated cruelty to animals last week after he was identified as the man who tossed a dog from back porch during an argument with his girlfriend last month. The dog suffered a broken rear left leg and hip and will almost certainly suffer from the long-term effects of the toss for years to come.
Sharkey was ordered held on $30,000 bond on Saturday and is due in court Friday. The dog's injuries were treated by Chicago Animal Care and Control.
